Charles Gardet Prestige 2006
70% Chardonnay, 30% Pinot Noir, matured in steel tanks for 8 months, followed by at least 12 years in bottle.
Based in Chigny-les-Roses in the heart of the Montagne de Reims, Gardet owns several hectares of Premier Cru vineyards with the rest of their requirements being bought in from growers with whom they have formed long and close relationships.
Attractive citrus, vanilla, pear, roasted nut and subtle honey aromas signal a fine Champagne experience is about to unfold. The elegant lightly creamed mousse coats the palate with soft lemon, brioche and fine nutty characters evolving through to a captivating finish of gala apple and freshly baked bread.
Perfect with spin-lobster tails, grilled John Dory, or salt-crusted bas.
